The project
A conceptual expression of cultural technology for that particular time of the steel works
The Light installation project is a project
which deals with the concept of the space
how it used today and how it was used throughout
time weather it be the cultural expression of technology
for that particular time, or the simple everyday uses and
geometry of the space which has important roles to play
in the design methodology.
The Lewes installation was built for a one off spatial experience exhibition at the foundry gallery in Lewes, the installation is a depiction of the building with its vast layers of history from when it was a steel works right through to the modern day uses as a theatre and exhibition space. the depiction occurs through a series of lights which pierce this interior insertion shell, with rays of blue light at different speeds expressing the ever changing temporal uses of the building throughout time.
The 3d representation images below deals with communicating some of the
Assets of the building at night the door illuminate out light and is almost seen
As theatre or stage set, and the building almost begins on the approach into the building across the little courtyard. i decided to capture the essence of this in this light installation, creating an all round spatial experience rather than a static piece within the space. And could be seen or rather experienced on the approach, and the transition into and around the building.
